Rees Selected To 2010 Academic All-American Team Posted: Friday - June 11th, 2010
Congratulations to Jeremy Rees who was selected to the 2010 All-Academic Team
by the The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA). He was a Two-time Division 1 state runnerup with 33-9 record at 140 pounds for coach Jon Kanavich at Framingham High School; four-time state placewinner; career record 107-22. Flannery Flyers' First All-American Posted: Sunday - March 28th, 2010
Congratulations to Nick Flannery! At the Senior National Wrestling Championships Nick Flannery became Framingham High School's First All-American Wrestler with a 1-0 win over a 4-time Kansas State Champion. Flannery finished in 4th Place overall in the 130 lbs. weightclass.
Nick Flannery: 2010 New England Champion Posted: Saturday - March 6th, 2010
Nick Flannery was crowned the champion of the 130 lbs. weightclass today at the New England Tournament in New Haven, CT. Flannery becomes the Flyers' first New England Champion since 1979.
Fellow Flyer, John Coukos finished in 5th place, after losing in the Semi-Finals to Mike Meyers (Tournament's Outstanding Wrestler) from Warwick RI, 0-3. Framingham Wrestling finished the tournament 9th overall.

Flannery Captures 3rd All State Title Posted: Mondauy - March 1st, 2010
Nick Flannery looked impressive in the final match at 130lbs., where he captured his 3rd straight All State Wrestling title. He was ready every match, and he dominated from round 1 to the final seconds of his last match. Flannery was also awarded the Outstanding Wrestler Award for the tournament and looks strong heading into the final tournament of the season. John Coukos, and Johnny Do also wrestled great and qualified for the New England Tournament that will take place on March 5th and 6th at Hill House in New Haven, CT. Flannery Takes Div. I State Title Posted: Sunday - February 21st, 2010
Nick Flannery beat Mike Shapiro 4-0 to capture the State Championship at 130 lbs. yesterday at the Division I Individual State Tournament in Waltham, MA. John Coukos lost a close match 9-10, to Lincoln-Sudbury's Dan Cmejla in the 125 lbs. Final, finishing in 2nd place overall. Jeremy Rees also took 2nd place in a 4-8 finish against a Waltham wrestler in the 145 lbs. class. 103 pounder, Johnny Do, wrestled very well after losing a tough early match, to take 4th place. The top Framingham wrestlers now move onto the All State Individual Tournament in Salem, MA on February 26-27th., where all State Divisions (I, II, & III) come together to crown the overall State Champions.

Division I Central Sectional Results Posted: Sunday - February 7th, 2010
Framingham Flyers Wrestling crowned 3 champions and advanced 8 wrestlers at the Division I Central Sectional Tournament in Waltham on Saturday. The Flyer champions were Johnny Do at 103 lbs. (12-6 win over Jerry Phok of Brookline), Nick Flannery at 130 lbs. (defeated Nick Murphy of L-S) and John Coukos at 125 lbs. Framingham's 8 qualifying wrestlers now head to Newton South on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Division I State Tournament.

Division I Sectional Tournaments Posted: Sunday - February 7th, 2010
Flyers Wrestling lost to Frankling 16-51 in The Division I Central Sectionals on Saturday, but had some very sharp individual performances. As the regular season team matchups conclude, Framingham looks ahead to Saturday, February 13th in Waltham, where their varsity wrestlers will compete in the 2010 Division I Central Sectional Individual Tournament.

Framingham Defeated In Natick Posted: Wednesday - February 3rd, 2010
The Framingham Flyers got off to a hot start with wins in the first seven of eight matches, but ended up losing the last five against Natick High School. It all came down to the 103 lb. matchup where Framingham freshman, Johnny Do wrestled well, but could not overcome Natick's fellow freshman, Peter Gutierrez in a 2-7 loss. Coach Kanavich noted Do's toughness after the match and predicted a bright future for the young Flyer wrestler. The defeat puts FHS at 10-6-1 for the season, with a 7-4 record in the Bay State Conference.

Flyers Ready for Lowell Quad Posted: Friday - January 29th, 2010
After a convincing 66-9 victory over Milton high school on Wednesday, the Framingham Flyer Wrestling team (9-3-1) will head to Lowell tomorrow morning for a quad meet with the host school, Andover and Timberlane.
The Flyers are led by senior captains Nick Flannery (25-1, ranked #1 in Mass, #2 in New England) John Coukos (23-3, ranked #1 in Mass, #10 in New England) and Jeremy Rees (20-6, ranked #6 in Mass). Freshman Johnny Do (15-6) and Sophomores Robert Coukos (18-4) and Gil Sa (16-9) and junior Mike Patterson (16-9) have been wrestling well as of late and add depth to the Flyer team.

Framingham Sweeps Quad Meet Posted: Sunday - January 25th, 2010
On Saturday, the Flyers hosted a quad matchup where they turned in three solid team victories, bringing their record to 8-3-1 overall. Eight different Framingham wrestlers finished the day with undefeated records en route to beating Dedham (49-27) , Braintree (58-23), and Wellesley (78-0). Click here to read more from the event.
Flyers Take Two of Three Posted: Saturday - January 16th, 2010
Framingham Wrestling handled Waltham and Duxbury, but tied with North Andover to finish the Quad Meet 2-1. The Flyers had 6 wrestlers who went undefeated, as Johnny Do (103 lbs.), Mike Patterson (171 lbs.), Robert Coukos, John Coukos (125 lbs.), and John Romero (135 lbs.) all had good days. Nick Flannery led the way with 3 pins at 130 pounds.
Framingham High School Wrestling now has 4 wins, 3 losses, and a tie on the season.
Framingham Finishes 28th Overall Posted: Sunday - January 9th, 2010
The Framingham boys wrestling team finished in 28th place out of 75 teams at the Eastern States Wrestling Classic in New York this weekend.
Nick Flannery (130) captured Third place with a record of 6 wins and 1 loss, while Jeremy Rees (140) took Eighth place with a 5 wins and 2 losses.

After a dominating 65-4 win over Brookline on Tuesday, the Framingham Flyer Wrestling team heads to New York to compete in the prestigious Eastern States Classic Wrestling tournament.
In the 74-team field, featuring 589 competitors, 5 Flyer wrestlers have earned seeds: Nick Flannery is seeded #2 at 130 lbs., Jeremy Rees is seeded #8 at 140 lbs., John Coukos is seeded #14 at 125 lbs. and Mike Patterson is seeded #17 at 171 lbs.

Nick Flannery Breaks All Time Wins Record Posted: Thursday - January 7th, 2010
"With a win by tech fall over Hopkinton's Matt Dry, Flannery earned his 115th victory, breaking P.J. Rovinelli's Flyers win record of 114. Not bad for an athlete who still has the bulk of his senior season left."
